Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, has been offering financial assistance to differently-abled students for enabling them to pursue professional or technical courses from recognised institutes and get employed/self-employed.  Under this scheme maintenance allowance, book/stationary allowance and grant for purchase of assistive devices are credited to the student’s account. Non-refundable fees are reimbursed to the student on production of proof of deposit of fees or are paid directly to the Institute under intimation to the student. There is provision of 2500 scholarships every year.

Eligibility: Students with disabilities for degree and postgraduate-level professional and technical courses from recognised institutions in India. Annual income of parents should not be more than Rs. 3 lakh.

Prizes and rewards: 2,500 scholarships of Rs. 25,000 for undergraduate courses and Rs. 30,000 for postgraduate courses. Other additional allowances will also be given.
