According to industry surveys, only 10% to 15% of the millions of graduates passing out every year in India are employable by any industry. It is indeed a sad state of affairs as many top industries are struggling to get skilled manpower.
In order to improve the current scenario and bridge the gap across the country, Times Centre for Learning Ltd, a TOI group initiative, has set up TimesPro, in association with the Loyola Institute of Frontier Energy.
The Chennai centre of TimesPro, has launched a Postgraduate Diploma programme in Banking Management (PGDBM). The course is built on 15 modules, and prepares candidates for a career in banking. The six month job oriented program has been designed for careers in Retail Banking will equip the learner with BFSI expertise of The Economic Times.
Candidates desirous of joining the course have to pass the TimesPro Aptitude Test. So far around 30 candidates have been enrolled in the first batch and are set to start classes at the end of this month. Besides, the centre is also offering suitable placements for the students in top banking companies, like HDFC Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Axis Bank, Yes Bank, IndusInd Bank and ING Vysya Bank.
The centre is also inviting applications for postgraduate diploma in finance and accounts. The course will have a joint certification from SAP, the leader in this segment. The course is offered to BCom graduates, and will be practical-oriented and application-driven.
