Government of India in association with Somerville College and the University of Oxford has been providing scholarships to Indian graduates to study at the University of Oxford in the following master’s courses in: MSc in Biodiversity, Conservation and Management; MSc in Contemporary India; Master of Public Policy; MSc in Water Science, Policy and Management; MSc in Environmental Change and Management; MPhil in Development Studies; and Bachelor of Civil Law (BCL).. Any graduate of Indian origin with exceptional academic merits and or have previously studied at an Indian higher education institution, interested in pursuing of the above courses at Oxford University can apply.
The scholarship covers course fees, college fees and a grant for living costs for full-time students of at least £14,057 (students on part-time courses will receive a study support grant instead). Awards are made for the full duration of your fee liability for the agreed course. Somerville College and the University have established these scholarships with the generous support of the Government of India.Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic merit, relevance of studies to the Centre’s interdisciplinary aims, understanding of the development challenges faced by India, and leadership and entrepreneurial potential.
The scholarship is only tenable at Somerville College. All eligible applicants will be considered for this scholarship, regardless of which college (if any) you state as your preference on the graduate application form. However, successful applicants will be transferred to Somerville College in order to take up the scholarship.
