LinkedIn launches new app for job seekers

LinkedIn Job Search, a free iOS app that will let 300 million members of the professional social network LinkedIn to search and apply for on the social network has been recently launched by LinkedIn. The new app Job Search comes packed with the core LinkedIn features and promises to keep your search completely private and not shared with your network.

With the app LinkedIn members can find, research, and apply for jobs on-the-go without the distractions of news, content, and other updates. The app includes job search filters like seniority level, industry and location, and both searches and individual jobs can be saved for a second look down the road. Currently, Job Search is available in the US only for now and can be downloaded from the Apple app store.

The app has been primarily launched in tune with the current wave of users accessing the social network site, via smartphones and tablets. Currently  LinkedIn estimates that 40% of its 300 million users access the site on mobile devices and with the launch of Job Search, LinkedIn hopes to increase the percentage significantly in the coming months.

For company that has been built on the basic approach of sharing and viewing each other’s profiles on the site, LinkedIn has adopted a policy of absolute secrecy for using Job Search. Everything you do within the app will be completely private and not shared with your network, assures LinkedIn.
