IIT-H announces fellowship in healthcare entrepreneurship

Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IIT Hyderabad) has announced the establishment of an Interdisciplinary Centre for Healthcare Entrepreneurship. The elite institution has also revealed that it will now be offering a fellowship in Healthcare Entrepreneurship. The one-year fellowship training programme for healthcare entrepreneurs is conceptualised, administered and mentored by an international team comprising entrepreneurs, top U.S. and Indian academicians, and biomedical industry. The fellowship will revolve around hands on training with a simulated entrepreneurial journey. Students will also have opportunities for incubation and access to all the technological expertise that IIT Hyderabad has to offer.

Students will also have the advantage of exposure to top global and local VC partners and will be parts of cross-disciplinary founding teams on various projects. The fellowship also entails a monthly stipend of Rs 50,000 and top performing students stand the chance of qualifying for incubation grants. Candidates with a background in any engineering discipline or medicine with a passion for entrepreneurship in healthcare are eligible to apply for the fellowship, and all fellows will be paid a stipend of Rs. 50,000 per month during the training period. At end of training, those shortlisted will qualify for an incubation grant.
